The Coarse lakes have slowed down these last couple of weeks as we go into Autumn but boilies, maggot, corn and luncheon meat seem to still be bringing tench, roach, carp to the bait. As for Fly Fishing, they are just under the surface and this last week or two, see m to be fond of boobies, fritz and little black flies.
We have had a lot of enquiries lately for pike fishing, so here is the information we have so far...PIKE UPDATE SEPT 2014
Pike fishing IS ALLOWED on the Delf Lake but it is with a pike fly only!
SERIOUS PIKING (DEAD BAITING) WILL NOT BEGIN
TILL LATE JANUARY 2015
PIKE UPDATE Feb 2014
So far we have had about 19 Pike landed and a few big ones have got away.
The biggest out so far was 18lb and all have been caught on float mackerel.
Stephen John caught this one on Fri 28th Feb
Turned up this afternoon for a quick 2 hour session! Waders on and as someone was fishing near the lodge and another on the slabs i had no choice but to wade to the far end of the lake ( only about 1 foot deep on the path). Using an Olive gold headed lure on sinking line I was missing a few fish. Then 2 x 2.5-3lbs Trout in a few minutes. Fantastic fish in great condition. 10 minutes later I was whipping the line in when I hit a snag.....well I thought it was a snag. I saw the line move rapidly and then a flash of Yellow/Gold. A big Brownie I thought. 10 minutes later I saw the fish properly. It was no trout...it was A massive Pike! 20 minutes later and after fighing the fish to my landing net 40 yards away ( pike dragged me all over) I managed to Net the 15lb, 34 inch beast! I`m still shaking as i sit at home. Great experience although I now have to properly learn how to handle Pike. All fish returned safely with no injuries
Weekends are booking up so give us a call to get your peg or come through the week when its quiet.
Only £10 !!
The NORTH WEST NOMADS joined us again on Sunday 1st Dec for another go on the Quarry and Delf Lakes

Here are some great photos of Trout landed over the last week or so. We appreciate all pictures of fish caught at Raygill sent to us and will always put them on the website.
All these fish were returned safely and unharmed.
Andy landed this 15lb Rainbow on a black klinkhammer off the quarry lake on Sat 6th July. He had 9 others but this was the best. Well done Andy, Great picture!!
Andy and his mate Roy had a great days fishing on Thurs 20th June.
Roy landed a monster of a perch (well, ok, not quite a monster, but it was his first encounter with a perch!) and Andy got a shock when he reeled in his olive buzzer on 3lb line and was met by a crocodile! It was a 9lb Pike.
Check the pics out...
Steve Seymour sent us this...
